Our adventures take place on one of the most spectacular and pristine stretches of the Adda River, where the water rises and flows freely again.
The sources of the Adda are located near Bormio, in the heart of the upper Valtellina, in an area where water has always been a protagonist: it flows next to the ancient thermal baths already known in the time of Pliny the Elder and the famous Levissima water spring. Here, everything speaks of purity, rock, mountains, and true nature.
For decades, these waters have been collected and preserved between large dams and tunnels dug into the mountain. Today, when they are released to generate energy, they flow back into the river with all their strength and transparency, creating one of the most fascinating scenery in the Alps.
And it is precisely here that our experiences begin.
We sail for about 10 km along the Adda River, just downstream from the last hydroelectric plant, in a surprising, wild, and spectacular setting.
Our rafts glide over freezing, crystal-clear, turquoise waters, nestled between forests, rock faces, and pristine Alpine landscapes. At the helm are our guides, professionals with over ten years of experience, who will accompany you in complete safety, allowing you to experience the river in the most authentic way.
And then comes the moment that leaves everyone speechless:
before you, the power plant's artificial waterfall opens up, 40 cubic meters of water per second plunging into the riverbed, creating a powerful, thrilling, almost primordial spectacle.
